The Center for the Development and Dissemination of Knowledge (CDDK) is a USA based Not-for-Profit organization whose mission is to promote the expansion of the knowledge bound and the penetration of knowledge across all populations.

The CDDK engages in a four pronged approach to achieving its mission. The four pillars upon which the CDDK rests are: (i) Public Scholarship – Popular Media Outlets; (ii) Organized Scholarship – Class Room Learning; (iii) Research – Peer Reviewed Journals; and (iv) Conferences – International Interdisciplinary Peer Review.

The CDDK’s work can be seen as “knowledge processing”. Knowledge processing comprises two parts; (i) knowledge creation and (ii) the dissemination of knowledge.

Research is naturally the component of the CDDK’s work which is in the creation realm. Whilst the hosting of conferences is largely a dissemination activity, often times new ideas and methods are articulated during conference proceedings.

From this viewing angle conferences straddle between dissemination and creation. In the dissemination field, Public Scholarship and Organized Scholarship are clear sub-components of this arm of the CDDK’s work.
